Objectivisisfisizm
Jul. 5th, 2010 08:31 pmI think I finally understand why Objectivism squicks me so bad.
It exalts an aspect of humanity that I very specifically dislike; the ability to devalue by objectification. It cultivates a sense of apathy-without-malice, one that divests itself of emotional suffering by devaluing the suffering of others.
So it is not so much a philosophy of objective thinking (to take oneself outside of emotion and observe without passion) as it is a philosophy of objectifying everything (to dehumanize; to render unremarkable).
I move that we re-name it Objectificism.
The difference between the F and the V is rather startling.
